I assisted for Richard Reinsdorf again today on a shoot for LA Confidential Magazine at Avalon Club in Hollywood. We shot "Entourage" star Perrey Reeves. The shots were once again amazing and I made some more contacts! w00t!

Well I've been bad at updating this. I like to post pictures with my blogs and I don't take a lot of pics just randomly throughout my day but I guess I could change that!

This past week I assisted for Kyle Christy on 3 shoots. Had a great time on all of them! Learned so much about assisting and about photography in general. We also got along great and I'm assisting him next week on a movie poster shoot for the movie "Fighter" with Channing Tatum.

Yesterday I interned for Richard Reinsdorf (www.rrpix.com). He's a fashion photographer who does some amazing work! I learned an incredible amount from him. Such simple techniques to get amazing light in pictures. I also learned a lot about posing models and just interacting with them.

Derek and I have started this 365 self portrait project on flickr. We're on day 3 and were already having trouble thinking up ideas! It's fun but I doubt I'll be able to make it all 365 days. I almost missed day 2! Here are my first 3 in order. Keep checking my flickr for new ones!

Work!

So I've finally got some work lined up! This weekend I'll be working with a photographer named Kyle Christy. We're shooting actress Gabrielle Union and Actor Ricardo Chavira. Then on Monday we're headed to Vegas to shoot NBA star Baron Davis in his home! I really look forward to it!

Haven't been doing much recently. Been at the beach a lot and just hanging out! Adriana and I saw the Dark Knight last night in IMAX! It was fantastic! She left for her friends wedding today in Maine. I'm sad I can't be there but funds came up a little short. But luckily it worked out for me because I wouldn't be able to go on this shoot this weekend.

This past sunday we went to San Diego for a car show. It was mostly german cars, my favorite! San Diego is amazing. Lots of awesome beaches we couldn't find parking at :P

This week I also shot my friend Brandon. He manages a few bands and he invited me over to his amazing house in West Hollywood. I took 300 pics of him while I was there. Here are a few I liked most and just a few more from the past week.

Yesterday was our first beach day here in LA. We went to Santa Barbara! We had so much fun. The water was amazing and so comfortable. We played frisbee for a bit then just played in the waves for awhile. We saw a few dolphins too! LA is amazing so far. Tomorrow I'm going to go out exploring and trying to find my way around. Today was kind of a lazy day. We got up and drove around a bit to run some errands. Then came home for awhile and did nothing. Then AC and I went over to her new place to sign some papers. Then we drove around for like a half hour trying to find a car wash. We found one that the cheapest was 16 bucks! The rest of them were closed. Now I'm home editing pictures and emailing photographers so I can start making money!

LA!

After 5 days of driving and 8 states we've made it! Yesterday I wasn't able to update because Vegas is LAME and charges you for everything!

I'll start off with leaving Denver..
We left Denver at 930 and before we knew it we were surrounded by mountains. It was pretty scary driving on all the windy roads in Adriana's car and with all the trucks all around us. One truck almost hit the car next to us and they come over into our lame and almost hit us! The drive just go better and better. Through all the mountains and canyons. We stopped at almost every view area to stop and take pictures. Once we got into Utah it started to get a hell of a lot hotter. It hit 106 degrees at one point. We thought the car was gonna die! Utah was just as beautiful as Colorado. Mountain after mountain. Once we got closer the Vegas we both started getting pretty antsy and very cranky. Once we got to Vegas all that went away. Vegas is a crazy ass place. I would love to go there and people watch for a few days. I don't even have to gamble. The people there are interesting enough to keep me going!

Yesterday morning we woke up early and got an early start to our last day! It was by far the fastest trip we had, suprisingly. We got into LA around 230. Unpacked the car quickly and then went to pick up my new baby! 08' MKV GTI! I love it. I wanna go drive it right now actually! We drove back to our house after picking it up and drove all pilled in my car and drove to In N' Out Burger! It was really good. Then we drove around West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. After that we went home and Mary and Scott came over. We just sat around and bullshitted basically all night.

My internet here is terrible. My computer is really having trouble staying connected. Its been doing this for a few months now which is super lame. I need a new oneeeee. hint hint mom. <3

That John Denver's Full of Shit!

We're in Denver now. After a long, dull drive from Omaha, we've made it to the rockies! Nebraska is very flat and has lots of corn. That's about all it has to offer! I fell asleep and Adriana decided she wanted to get some gas. So she looked up on the GPS the closest place. It took us to this random ass town called Shelton, Nebraska. The gas station was closed and didn't look to have been opened for a long time. So we drove down some random road for awhile till we found another shady ass gas station with a credit card machine that was from the 80's. After that exciting experience I took over the driving. The rest of the drive was flat and straight, just like yesterdays drive.
Our hotel here in Denver is so fun! They answer the phone saying "We're having fun at the curtis!" We got lucky and they upgraded our room to a new redesigned suite! It's basically two rooms. One side has a bed and flat screen TV and the other has a couch and flat screen TV! It's freaking sweet. We have an amazing view of the rockies too! Tonight we ate at fondue restaurant! It was freaking amazing! 4 course meals FTW! Tomorrow were off to Vegas! I'm excited to drive through Colorado. It will be our longest day in the car. Hope AC can make it without being to crabby. :D jk ac.

Today AC and I got up early and walked around Chicago for a bit. She had never been there before and she wanted to see the city and I can't pass up Chicago! We went to dunkin donuts for breakfast then did a lot of walking. We went to Millennium Park and saw the bean and then the crazy Frank Gehry outdoor theater. After that we walked up and down Michigan Avenue for awhile then we headed back to the Hotel. After waiting for like a half hour for our car to get brought up by valet we were on our way to Omaha!

Our drive to Omaha was ridiculously boring and felt like it took 3 year. We hit some crazy hard rain in Iowa somewhere and we stopped at the worlds largest truck stop to get out of the rain! We saw some very interesting people there. Lots of SICK eagle tattoos and sleeveless shirts. We stuck out like sore thumbs, it was very interesting. After the rain passed we got some nice skies to look at. Some great colors and clouds, my favorite!

Now were finally in Omaha. I hope the rest of our days aren't this ridiculously boring on the road.

Tomorrow we're off to Denver! Hopefully it will be somewhat exciting!

Chicagoooo

After an emo goodbye in the Mitten, and a good hour of packing up the Edge (thanks Mike)...Robby and I took off for the first destination on our cross country trip....Chi-Town!! To be perfectly honest, the drive did not have all that much to offer. Let's see...we stopped in the most commercial town on earth in Indiana for a quick Dunkin Doughnuts coffee run for moi, and White Castle for Robby (gross)!! Then good old Alexa (my fiesty gps) got us to Chicago right on schedule (ish). Robby, and I walked a bit around the city, and are right now enjoying a delish dinner at our hotel. More tomorrow from Robby! Night night...AC! PS so happy to be back with you RJ!!

Goodbyes

So I decided to start my blog with goodbyes. I made this blog so everyone not in LA with me can keep up with what I'm doing with my life. Hopefully some people will actually care!

I leave for LA on Monday. Adriana is coming on Monday morning and I think were driving to Chicago that afternoon. Monday morning will be the day of goodbyes. We're stopping in Chicago, Lincoln, Denver, The Grand Canyon, Then LA!

The other day I got to shoot my friends car for the last time. I can't tell you how many times i've shot his cars in the past and this will probably be the last one for awhile. It was my first time using lights and I think it came out really good!

After owning my car for 3 years now its time for it to go. I sold my car 3 days after I put it up for sale. I'm so happy it sold so quickly. I still remember the first day i got it. When I get to LA I'm getting a VW GTI.
